Key Responsibilities
As a Service Technician, your role will include:
- Supervising and Executing Service Activities: Engage in refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions on MacGregor and similar equipment.
- Continuous Self-Development: Utilize independent working methods to enhance your skills and knowledge continuously.
- Reporting and Communication: Gather information and generate reports as required to keep stakeholders informed.
- Building Relationships: Establish and maintain strong connections with both internal teams and external customers.
- Feedback Integration: Channel customer feedback to the appropriate MacGregor departments for continuous improvement.
- Staying Informed: Keep abreast of developments and news related to our major customers in the industry.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the local MacGregor service network to ensure seamless operations.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety and quality protocols, including site safety rules and environmental standards.
- Sales Support: Identify service and spare parts sales opportunities, assisting in lead follow-ups and quotes while on-site.
- Mentoring: Provide guidance to junior colleagues and trainees as necessary.
- Profit Awareness: Be conscious of departmental profitability and manage subcontractor jobs effectively.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Education: A technical degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a related field.
- Preferred Competencies: Offshore experience is a plus, along with successful completion of Cargotec training programs.
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
